Visiting the Festival

THE FESTIVAL PROGRAMME

Full details of all services and concerts will be given in the Festival Programme. This will also contain a plan of The Close and its surroundings, including the location of St Thomasís Church and the White Hart Hotel. From Monday 13 July, programmes may be purchased or vouchers exchanged at Salisbury Cathedral Shop.

Programmes will also be available at the Festival Box Office in The Close from 16 July and at each venue before a concert.

Separate orders of service will be available for all sung Cathedral services.

VENUES, PROGRAMMING AND VISIBILITY

All concerts and events will be held in the Cathedral unless otherwise indicated. The published programme is subject to alteration. There may be some seats where visibility is limited by reason of the architecture of the venue.

ST THOMASíS CHURCH

St Thomasís Church is approximately eight minutes walk from The Close via the High Street. There is no parking at the church, but nearby car parks will be detailed in the programme book.

FACILITIES FOR THE DISABLED

The Cathedral, St Thomasís Church and the White Hart Hotel are accessible to those in wheelchairs or with other disabilities. The Youth in Music concert on the Friday is at the Cathedral School on the first floor, which is only accessible via a wide staircase. Toilets are available at the Cathedral and St Thomasís Church with wheelchair access. A loop system is in operation for the spoken word at these venues.

TOILET FACILITIES

Toilets (including those for people with disabilities) are located off the Cathedral Cloisters, accessed most easily from the South Transept.

CAR PARKING

Public car parks near the Cathedral are situated in New Street (which closes at 8.00pm) and Crane Bridge Road. More distant car parks are in Brown Street, Salt Lane and the large Central car park.

There is no free public parking available in the Cathedral Close, but spaces are available for Blue Badge Holders.

A limited number of Patronsí permits at a cost of £15 each will be available for parking in the Cathedral Close. The permit will be issued for the duration of the festival and a specific vehicle; it is not transferable and vehicles will be parked at their ownersí risk.

Applications for permits should be made by writing to SCF Patronsí Parking, The Department of Liturgy and Music, Wyndham House, 65 The Close, Salisbury, SP1 2EN with the vehicle registration number, a cheque for £15 made payable to Salisbury Cathedral and a stamped self-addressed envelope.
